Sewa TT Blood Drives commenced in 2007 due to the difficulties faced by Thalassemic patients for regular supply of blood for transfusions. Since 2007 Sewa TT has successfully completed thirty one (31) blood drives in collaboration with the Friends of the Blood Bank Association and have inspired and assisted many other organisations to conduct blood drives. In the event of a natural disaster, Sewa TT now has a pool of donors that can be called upon to donate blood and a network of organisations that have the know-how to run efficient blood drives.
Objectives of Blood Drives:
To Increase the National Supply of Blood
To promote safe, non-remunerated, voluntary blood donation
To facilitate a nation-building process that allows people to serve their fellow citizens through a process that does not discriminate
To eliminate negative myths of blood donation
To create a comfortable atmosphere for family and friends to donate together
